Meet your guide/angel meditation

I did a 'meet your angel'/guide meditation years ago,and got two names, I looked them up, one is a healing Angel, I am a Reiki and crystal healer so that makes sense couldnt find anything about the other one.
I often have a strong feeling of two 'beings' about me and choose to believe its them!! My view is that they are not necessarily messengers from god or higher power, but pure spirits who choose to be in my life.
They are not my guides, when I work with guides their energy and their method of communication is different.

Relax and Revive meditation

Relax & revive meditationA lovely old pagan meditation, sure to revive you and help you to have a more positive day.
Stand outside, barefoot on grass if possible.
Send two long roots from your toes down into the earth, imagine them passing through the many layers of the earth past all the rocks, and then tying themselves gentle to two beautiful underground crystals.
Then bring up through those roots all the energy from mother earth, feel it infuse every fibre of your being, feel it coming up through your feet, legs, spine, arms and then out of the top of your head in a magnificent silver and golden shower which covers your whole body protecting and energising it.
Thank mother earth.

Yule 'wishes' tree decorations

These tree decorations are perfect to give to family and friends at Yule. As you make them 'wish' that the recipient will have all they hope for in the following year. After the Yule celebrations the recipient can plant the token in the garden or toss them in to the sea while making their own wish.Instructions:Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.Use a tea cup for measuring.Measure into a bowl one cup of apple sauce (shop bought) and one cup of cinnamon. Mix this together with your hands for 2-3 minutes until it is smooth and blended. If it feels too sticky you can use disposable gloves.Roll the dough to about a 1/4" thick. I roll mine between two sheets of greaseproof paper to prevent sticking.Cut out your shapes, stars are good but you can choose any shape you like.

At this stage I press the initial of the recipient using alphabet cutters. Make a hole at the top so you can thread ribbon through later.Put your shapes onto a greased tray and bake for 2 hours.

When cool, thread a length of ribbon through the pre-made hole so they can be hung from the tree.

Yule is getting closer, its on 22nd December this year.I will make my usual table display of holly, ivy and misteltoe with a red candle which I will leave to burn (safely) all solstice night. I will quietly give thanks for the year thats past, and hope for a good year to come.New for this year I will also make 'yule wishes' for family and friends, (instructions to follow) these are a tree ornament, while you are making them you make a wish or 'intent' for the reciepent for the coming year. I love celebrating Xmas with my family but Yule gives me the chance to honour the new age/pagan part of me, and remember the 'old ways' which were more closely linked to nature and the turning of the wheel of the year. The moon

Following the star is the moon.
This is a slightly darker card which can have dual meanings.
Water represents emotions and this card can appear in a reading if the querent feels their life is stuck, or they feel depressed or not knowing which way to turn.
They may feel they are losing control of their life and don't know what to do.
I have also seen this card appear in a reading if there is deceit surrounding the querent.
However, beyond the water and the path, behind the moon is a bright sun, always a sign of optimism with its promise of hope and 'light at the end of the tunnel'
It is also a card of creativity and making the best of any creative ideas or skills that you have, and will often appear if a person is in the process of creative writing which uses deep imagination.

The Tower

The Tower is a very dramatic card, its appearance in a reading tells of upheaval, major changes and disruption. It represents a powerful change in life which could leave you feeling helpless.
It can be hard to see a positive aspect to this card as it usually foretells some kind of misfortune, material or emotional.
Sometimes we need a dramatic change to make us re evaluate our lives and to move on to something new

The Hermit, card 9 of the tarot.
The Hermit is a solitary figure as he walks through the gloom with his lantern.
The lantern represents the knowledge and wisdom he has learnt over many years.
He is alone and facing a time of reflection. He relies on all of his past experience to find his way through whatever circumstance has brought him here with only his lamp to guide him. Maybe his lamp represents his deepest thoughts, or the light within him waiting to be set free.
When the Hermit appears in a reading he represents loneliness, solitude and reflection, or time alone.
We may not want to be alone, or have chosen to be alone. Circumstances may have forced it upon us.
It may be that we need solitude to understand our thoughts and where life is taking us next.
Sometimes it is necessary to step back from the hustle and bustle of life so we can develop our thoughts and feelings. Then, when we are ready we will see our own light, and it will show us the way forward.

Strength

Strength, card 8, shows a woman holding a lion. She looks into its jaws and appears calm and in control. she is not frightened.
Although she is walking into the jaws of danger she knows from past experience that she has the strength to see it through.

This is a card of lust, as in lust for life and enthusiasm for a situation. The strength comes from our ability to see something through to the end without fearing the outcome.

It tells us we have strength even though we may doubt this ourselves.
It is a positive card of overcoming obstacle and barriers in our lives.

Trouble sleeping? Try crystal therapy

If you are having trouble sleeping an amethyst under your pillow can help. It must be thoroughly cleaned of all previous touch and influence. You can do this by holding it under running water then leaving it out under a new moon or full moon.
In a few people Amethyst might cause nightmares as it can release your inner fears and parts of your life that you have not worked through. Don't be afraid of this as your dreams and nightmares can help you to re-asses the situation and work out solutions.
If the nightmares do not stop after a while you can swap your amethyst for a rose quartz, this is a more gentle stone which should aid sleep but not open your higher chakras.

A male figure is shown driving a chariot drawn by two sphinxes, one black and one white.
Each sphinx represents a different side or opposing nature of a situation or person. Each one wanting to pull in a different direction, they need the charioteer to control them and stop them from going out of control. The sphinx represent our Will, and Willpower.
This card is often about conflict that opposites create, and the need to strike a balance.
I often see this card linked to transport of some kind, maybe problems with a car, or the thought of buying a new vehicle.
In a reading the Chariot can represent a situation with two opposing sides, it can show conflict and the need for balance and harmony. It often appears when there are obstacles to overcome in the life of the person seeking the reading. It may show up when we need to harness our willpower to achieve a goal.
As previously mentioned I often find it referring to transport in some way.
The cards surrounding the Chariot will tell us if its influence is positive or negative.

The Lovers

The Lovers, card 6, shows a naked man and woman standing beneath an angel. A mountain is in the distance. The man looks towards the woman but the woman looks towards the angel. The angel appears to be bringing them together. In order for them to move towards the mountain they have to overcome obstacles and make choices. What they choose is likely to affect many areas of their lives.
In a reading this card is about making important choices, sometimes these choices refer to matters of love but sometimes the card simply indicates a choice which can be in any area of your life, either way, this situation is likely to cause repercussions and complications.
If the card is in a relationship reading it can indicate choice or decision in a relationship, or an affair, or marriage, but it is likely to be one which involves some kind of trial and difficulties so needs to be entered into with great care.
Many books on tarot refer to this as the choice between sacred and profane love.

The Hierophant

The Hierophant, card 5, is an imposing character. He has the look of a religious figure, he does not represent the established church but more our spiritual thoughts and ideals.
He appears to command respect and attention with the two figures sitting at his feet fully attentive. He is seated between two pillars, these are symbolic of duality and balance
He is a teacher who advises us to look at our motive before making a decision.
He represents kindness, conformity and spiritual guidance.
When he appears in a reading he is likely to represent a situation rather than a person. He is offering spiritual guidance, he tells us to listen to our conscience but suggests we follow convention rather than any modern way of thinking.
As with every reading the card surrounding the Hierophant will influence the reading.

The Emperor

The Emperor, card 4 ,to me the Emperor sitting in his high back imposing chair looks like a person at the height of his success, he is some one in charge of his destiny. He looks straight ahead as he is not swayed by the opinion of others.His jewel encrusted crown show his material wealth. He is a powerful character.
He stands for authority, ambition and the drive to succeed.
He can represent an older man who is influential in your life, often, though not always this is a father figure, or he can appear in a reading representing a situation involving an older man.
When the Emperor appears in your reading he will usually be telling of material matters concerning you at this time, or stand for material gain or an achievement. He may represent the influence of a powerful man in your life
As always the cards surrounding him give more information to his presence in your spread.

The Empress

The Empress, card 3, a symbol of abundance and fertility. She symbolises growth and prosperity in all areas of your life. She also represents our potential and creative ability.
She sits relaxed and serene, her crown has 12 stars and her scepter indicates authority, the male symbol inside a large heart is at her feet. She is the mother of all.

For me, as soon as I see the Empress I think of babies, in many readings I have done in the past when this card appears a baby is not far away! Co-incidentaly this week while working on The Empress card I found I am to be an aunt again!
However she is not always about babies, and as usual the cards surrounding her give a clue to her meaning. She will often appear in a reading representing a marriage. She also appears for people who are about to start a new business - or if they are at a time in their life when they will be developing and growing new ideas or plans. She is a very positive card to have in your reading and always brings good news, and growth on all levels.

The High Priestess

The High Priestess, card 2, is all about spiritual matters

She sits relaxed and comfortable between two pillars, she trusts her judgement and her intuition.

The two pillars symbolise the two sides of all matters.

Behind her are pomegranates, the sacred fruit of Persephone the queen of the underworld (Greek mythology), this symbolises the High priestess's link with the spirit world.

There is a lot of balance with this card.

In a reading this card will often appear when you are looking at spiritual aspects of your life, or are looking to develop your spiritual side.

Hidden influences may be at work in both your home and work life

Your intuition may need to be used or may be heightened at this time, there may be secrets about to be revealed.

Often this card refers to the influence of women in your life

As always the reading will depend on the other cards drawn , and their influence on the spread.

The Magician

The Magician, card number one in the tarot deck.

The Fool (0) gives us the courage to take a leap of faith, and to try something new. The Magician (1) shows us the skills needed to make an important new beginning in our lives.

He holds his white wand high, suggesting his high aspirations. Before him on the table are four objects,a pentacle, wand, cup and sword. These are the four suits of the tarot, signifying that all is obtainable. His garden is rich and lush with roses and lilies. suggesting the abundance that is available.

When we see this card we know the skills we need are within our reach - we may need to take action to get to our goal, maybe we need extra qualifications and knowledge, we will almost certainly need self discipline to achieve our goals.

First, we must recognise our potential and then we must set about finding ways to realise it.

In a reading this card indicates new beginnings, whether this is in our personal life or in business. The cards surrounding the Magician will give us an indication of the direction we are heading.

The beginning, The Fool

The Fool is the first card of the Major Arcana. Its number is 0, which can mean everything or nothing.

The Major Arcana cards usually relate to important matters in your life.

When I look at this card I see a happy and carefree person setting of on an adventure. He carries a small bundle behind him tied to a stick. This bundle represents the past, past actions, events, memories and deeds.It is light and does not weigh him down,

He carries a white rose in his right hand, the white rose is seen as a symbol of purity, innocence and divinity, it can also symbolise humility and serenity.

The laurel leaves interwoven on his hat represent success the red feather a symbol of desire!

The little white dog trusts his master to make the right decision - is he playing the part of our subconscious? Do we trust our intuition enough? Does it usually steer us in the right direction?

He stands on the edge of a cliff, will he jump? Is there a large drop?

When the Fool appears in your reading it will usually be because you are on the verge of something new, it may be exciting or terrifying! You are probably unsure of which way to turn and whether to take the leap of faith needed to move on to the next step.

It usually appears when a new opportunity has come, or is about to come your way.

At this time you need to leave the past in the past and look to a more rewarding future.

When reading the tarot it is important to look at the meaning of the individual card, but equally important to look at the cards either side as these will have a huge impact on what the cards are telling you.
